Rock Paper Tuition is an education platform designed to help students learn more effectively through live classes, instant doubt-solving, and practice features. I was responsible for designing the onboarding screens that would introduce new users to the app’s core value while ensuring a smooth first-time user experience.

Process
1. Understanding the Product
Before jumping into design, I collaborated with the product and research teams to understand:
The app’s core offerings: Live Class, Ask, and Practice
The user pain points identified in early research (e.g., the need for instant help and personalized learning)
The target audience: school students who prefer fast, clear, and motivating experiences
2. Wireframing & Flow
I mapped out a simple onboarding journey:
3–4 slides introducing each core feature
A final screen prompting users to sign up or explore
Each screen was carefully structured to:
Highlight one feature with a short, benefit-driven message
Use visual hierarchy and clean UI to reduce cognitive load
3. Visual Design
I developed a friendly, youthful visual style that:
Uses light, engaging illustrations to keep students interested
Applies consistent brand colors and typefaces
Incorporates clear CTAs to guide next steps (e.g., "Get Started", "Join Now")
4. Testing & Feedback
I shared early mockups with internal stakeholders and collected feedback focused on clarity, visual tone, and flow. Small tweaks were made to improve readability and visual engagement, especially on smaller screens.
Challenges
Balancing simplicity and clarity:
The biggest challenge was making the onboarding informative without overwhelming users.
Adapting to younger users:
The tone and visuals needed to appeal to school-age students without feeling too childish or too formal.
Outcome
The onboarding screens successfully introduced new users to Rock Paper Tuition’s value proposition and guided them smoothly into the app. Early testing showed:
